SBI esports to pay players in Ripple rather than FIAT moving forward

SBI esports, a subsidiary of Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group, announced that esports players will be paid in Ripple (XRP) moving forward.

The move comes as part of an official partnership deal with VC Trade, a venture capital firm.

Based on the official statement, all salaries will be disbursed in crypto instead of the traditional FIAT currencies.

With this move, the company is hoping to consolidate its presence in the esports community which is also keen on using crypto.

SBI esports has been a partner with Ripple for a long while now, making the sponsorship deal a logical continuation of the two companies’ relationship.

According to the official statement, SBI esports’ goal is to:

“Create and nurture a healthy market based on customer-centricity, improve prices, and expand liquidity.”

Players have not objected to the move, welcoming the XRP payment option.

Esports is very popular among blockchain operators, too.

Betting companies such as Sportsbet, Cloudbet and FortuneJack have comprehensive esports betting solutions available to esports fans who are also crypto enthusiasts.
