De Lorenzo has previously held a number of roles within the gaming industry, including as director of development and trading at Gamshy and as risk analyst at Goldbet SportWetten.

In a statement, Wagerr described De Lorenzo as ‘the real deal’, adding that his skills will make him a ‘key resource’ for the team.

“Luigi has spent his career applying skills he developed as an engineer — mathematics, statistics, and stochastic analysis — to that which he truly loves: sports and sports betting,” the statement said.

“His talents have been in demand at established sports betting operations around the world for risk management, odds calculation, and automation through software development.”
