Uniswap votes on second governance-token distribution

Users are now preparing to distribute more governance tokens to other users who have interacted with the DEX through a third-party platform, looking to empower the experience for “outsiders.”

This is the second such “governance proposal” where the decentralised exchange is looking to empower the community in deciding who gets in on the Uniswap bonanza.

There are still some 20 hours to go before the voting round ends, and it's exciting to see the community come together over an issue such as this.

Should existing community members agree to distribute governance tokens, this means that some 12,619 wallets will receive 400 UNI tokens each in what is a massive token distribution round.

The addresses were carefully curated in order to ensure they are genuine and unique users, rather than a single person with multiple addresses.

The voting will end on October 31, around 8:00 am UTC.

The Uniswap community actually seems very fond of the idea and users are predominantly for empowering third-party users.

Some 25 million people have voted for whereas one million have voted against so far.

This initiative goes to exemplify the power of blockchain.

Similar to cryptocurrency gaming portals such as Bitcasino, 1xBit and FortuneJack, Uniswap is a community-driven society, and consumers can choose whom to let in.
