The Ledger: Barrichello joins SoftSwiss and Do Kwon seeks extradition to South Korea

In The Ledger this week, Former Formula 1 legend Rubens Barrichello has recently taken on a new role as a non-executive director at igaming tech firm Softswiss in Latin America.

Softswiss has been in the igaming solutions industry for 15 years, offering a crypto platform among its suite of products. The firm aims to strengthen its ties with the local tech community and expand its presence in the region with Barrichello's appointment.

Meanwhile, lawyers for disgraced crypto boss Do Kwon are busy fighting to get him out of a proposed extradition to the US, where he faces harsh penalties for the collapse of his firm’s stablecoin TerraUSD in May 2022, wiping out almost $45bn market capitalization in one week.

Kwon wants to avoid a prison sentence in the US and is trying to get to his home nation of South Korea instead. He is currently in Montenegro.

Elsewhere this week, crypto betting platform ZKasino found itself embroiled in controversy as users encounter difficulties withdrawing their funds. The platform's official Telegram channel has been suspended, exacerbating concerns over its reliability.

ZKasino's funding wallet was found to contain a substantial 10,500 ETH, valued at approximately $32m, sparking concerns over the platform's financial management practices and overall operational integrity.

BC.Game became the latest operator to obtain a license from Curacao’s regulator, the National Ordinance for Games of Chance this week. CEO Jack Dorsey welcomed the new regulatory status, saying it was “a vital milestone in BC.Game's ongoing development”.

Crypto betting app CoinPoker made a significant announcement during its annual Crypto Series of Online Poker tournament, declaring the removal of all cashout fees, effective immediately.

Finally, FUNToken has partnered with NFT project Rh!noX and BlockBets has unveiled its native cryptocurrency, $BBETS, through a public presale.
