Stake.com breaks records in April

Punters placed wagers as high as $644,000, while one player won $3.9m by playing Hacksaw Gaming’s Bloodthirst.

Crypto casino and sportsbook Stake.com has reported record-breaking numbers and trends for the month of April 2023.

A bettor won $3.4m in the sportsbook segment after betting on Atalanta in Serie A (Italian soccer), with odds of 2.45. Another player won $3.9m by playing Hacksaw Gaming’s Bloodthirst, despite the game's high volatility. And, one slot player at Stake Casino experienced a life-changing moment in April, thanks an impressive 5,250x win.

The records were not only limited to winnings, as a player staked a whopping $643,798.95 on Blackjack Hand, the highest wager in April 2023.

Players were active in all gaming categories but the slot segment was the most popular, with Pragmatic Play and Hacksaw Gaming leading the charge. Crazy Time generated $56.2m in revenue and remained the most popular live casino game.

Stake.com recently expanded its esports product offering through a partnership with B2B esports odds provider Oddin.gg. Other partnerships enhancing Stake.com Sportsbook include the company being named the exclusive betting partner of the Volleyball Nations League by Volleyball World for the 2023 season.

Rising revenues

In February, Stake.com was crowned the only “modern disruptor” to exceed $1bn in revenue in 2022, according to consultancy Regulus Partners.

The crypto casino and sportsbook generated gross gaming revenue of just $105m in 2020, but that figure rose to almost $2.6bn last year, thanks largely to wealthy gamblers attracted to the anonymity of betting with cryptocurrencies.

The gambling consultancy pointed to Stake.com's esports marketing and crypto payment integration as strengths but also discussed its weaknesses, such as its aggressive approach in grey markets and potential challenges in regulated markets.

Stake Casino facilitates crypto gaming with an onboarding process, allowing new players to sign up using their social media accounts. The casino initially accepted nine cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Litecoin (LTC).

But in October, it expanded to support 11 more currencies, such as ApeCoin (APE), Tether (USDT) and Binance Coin (BNB), among others. The platform is hosting several promotions, including the $50k Weekly Raffle and the $100k Race – 24 Hours.
