South Korea’s Lotte Group collaborates with Polygon for global NFT drive

The firm plans to accelerate several NFT projects by partnering with the Polygon blockchain.

South Korean Lotte Group has partnered with Polygon to expand its NFT business worldwide.

By utilizing Polygon’s Ethereum scaling solution, Lotte will accelerate its NFT expansion with the help of domestic and foreign firms.

The company aims to become a competitive player in the web 3.0 world by creating an NFT business model with the help of the Polygon Foundation.

The partnership will begin by rebranding BellyGom NFTs, the pink bear mascot for Lotte Home Shopping.

BellyGom NFTs give holders benefits regarding Lotte’s products and services including discounted shopping coupons and hotel vouchers.

During an NFT holder party at Jamsil Lotte World on February 25, Daehong Communication announced that a second NFT launch titled “BellyGom NFT Season 2” will follow, however the release date has not yet been decided.

“Polygon and Daehong are [now] technical partners and counterparties that provide marketing support as needed”, said a Polygon spokesperson.
