Skrill and Neteller discontinue gambling payments in Norway

Online payment processing companies and online wallets Skrill and Neteller have notified merchants in Norway that they would no longer offer support and process payments related to gambling transactions in the country.

Both e-wallets have discontinued the services for both gambling businesses as well as any merchants that may be promoting the services, the companies announced on December 8.

Skrill and Neteller have been preferred payment methods for many gamblers in Norway, adding to a level of protection few traditional payment methods can achieve.

Presently, Norwegian players will have to stick with other viable payment options, including personal money transfers, bank cards, ATM withdrawals, and not least cryptocurrencies where and when applicable.

After Skrill and Neteller decided to pull out, ecoPayz seems to be the only viable alternative left when it comes to e-wallets, outside the crypto space.

Cryptocurrencies have proven their reliability time and again, however, at websites such as BitStarz, Bitcasino, and FortuneJack, and may be a viable substitute.

However, to fulfil their purpose as such, they would need to be legally allowed in the country first, something that is not the case, at least at the available licensed Norway-facing brands. Crypto casinos, however, offer a viable alternative.
