Rainmaker Games secures $4.7m in funding round

Following a seed round in 2020 which raised $6.5m, the company has raised further funds to support blockchain development.

Blockchain gaming platform Rainmaker Games has announced the completion of its most recent seed round.

The funding round raised a total of $4.7m and was led by the venture capital firm Placeholder and crypto focused investment firm Hivemind Capital.

Other firms in participation included Blockwall Capital, Coinfund, Side Door Ventures, Tokenbay Capital, Shima Capital and Peer Ventures.

The funds raised will be used to expand the company’s development and improve its platform, which is set to launch in beta early this year.

The new platform will be aimed at enabling the gaming community and its users to challenge one another without needing to play simultaneously.

The new initiative is not dissimilar to that of the fitness app Strada, where users can track and store their fitness goals and accomplishments.

Rainmaker Games aim to provide web 2.0 and 3.0 gamers with a blockchain platform supporting multiple gamers and play-to-earn (P2E) gaming.

The company's latest funding round hopes to enhance its progress towards expanding its collaboration with blockchain games in the crypto space.
