Photo Finish Season 15 commences with new scheduling updates

Photo Finish addresses the underrepresentation of lower-end horses in benchmark races

After the excitement surrounding the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, Photo Finish LIVE is now ready to start its new Season 15. However, a new season cannot commence without a review of the one that just finished.

Looking back at Season 14, the virtual horse racing game experienced an increase in the number of races by 1.82% despite some fluctuations of its native utility token $CROWN, which were mainly attributed to crypto market developments that did not have anything to do with the game itself. There was, however, a slight decrease by 3.28% in entry fees during Season 15, but this did not affect racing.

On the contrary, the majority of the horse population in the game, to be exact 80%-90%, participated in races with pick participation experiencing the most growth. It saw an increase in Net Handle of 12.17% and a 9.6% rise in user horse picks.

Benchmark races, which allow A-graded horses to compete against S-graded colts and fillies, contributed to providing equal chances to horses of all grades boosting the fairness and balance in the Photo Finish ecosystem.

Many new players joined the Photo Finish LIVE platform so the team directed efforts toward making them feel at home. Those initiatives included a refined schedule that made choosing race types easier and determining their horses’ strengths.

Based on the previous experience, the team of Photo Finish is introducing pivotal adjustments in Season 15. For example, Rising Stars Events will be relocated to the third Thursday of the season, showcasing emerging Photo Finish talents.

The team is also asking the community to suggest event replacements that will help foster better player engagement.

Data from Season 14 also revealed that lower-end horses are underrepresented in benchmark races. Thus, new initiatives are being put in motion to address this issue and promote a fair playing field for all kinds of horses in the game.

The Photo Finish team will continue to conduct data analytics during Season 15 as well for the purposes of improving the scheduling of different race types as they strive to create a welcoming but competitive environment for all participants.

Even though Season 15 is just starting, Photo Finish LIVE is also looking ahead to Season 16. The team has plans to optimize and expand benchmark races focusing particularly on undercard races. The changes are meant to achieve a better competitive balance and offer more racing opportunities for horses across all grades.

Photo Finish is encouraging players to actively take part in community discussions as player feedback is essential for the growth and improvement of the game.
