10,000 free-to-own exclusive characters will be released during the initial launch.

The eco-friendly blockchain Oasys has announced the launch of OASYX, its inaugural NFT initiative on its native blockchain.

The project will be overseen by the Japanese game designer Yu Suzuki and produced by the Japan headquartered blockchain gaming company double jump.tokyo.

The first edition of OASYX will include a release of 10,000 original characters in a free-to-own format serving as the start of future metaverse personas.

A range of NFTs will be created in collaboration with leading creators and artists alongside respectable games developers from established brands.

Subsequently, OASYX hopes to provide a larger scope of NFTs for its following series with the aim of further utility cases like new characters, in-game and fashion accessories.

The NFT launch will benefit from Suzuki’s experience and former position as SEGA’s head of research and development team.

Alongside developing several of the multinational video gaming company’s arcade games, the designer is known to bring innovation culturally as well as technologically.

Not only will Suzuki oversee the initial project, but he will also creatively supervise the artistic direction of  OASYX’s first NFT series.

Offering comprehensive utility to its holders, the OASYX NFT will also grant users access to Oasys’ ecosystem including any future collaborations with future game projects who join Oasys.

Oasys director Daiki Moriyama said: We look forward to bringing on more exceptional icons in our industry as we pave the way forward for the mainstream adoption of NFTs and blockchain gaming, with OASYX serving as an important catalyst”.
