Oasys launches its mainnet

In an aim to “revolutionize the gaming industry with its proof-of-stake blockchain”, the Singaporean gaming blockchain will launch its mainnet in three stages.

The Singapore-based gaming blockchain Oasys has announced plans to launch its mainnet.

The statement from the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible and multi-layered blockchain comes after a year of establishing its business with the likes of gaming giants Bandai Namco Research, SEGA, Square Enix, Netmarble and Ubisoft.

The launch itself began on Tuesday, October 25, and will be split into three phases; each phase aims to stabilize, integrate and enhance the ecosystem.

The first step will see Oasys’ 21 initial validators carry out operations to ensure that the Oasys layer 1 hub-layer can maintain a stable performance.

The second phase of the launch is expected after November 8 with the view to integrate Oasys layer 2’s verse-layer on top of the current framework.

The final stage after stabilization and initial integration with both the hub-layer and verse-layer will be to amalgamate all essential components of the Oasys ecosystem for user experience and enhancement of gaming performance with the Oasys Hub; a portal interface for users to engage with.

Oasys director Daiki Moriyama said: “The blockchain gaming ecosystem has grown rapidly over the past few years, reflecting an increasing appreciation of the value that projects such as Oasys have brought to the wider industry.

“However, now is not the time to reflect on past accomplishments, but focus on the exciting possibilities of the future”.
