World’s first blockchain-based national lottery ticket sold

The world’s first blockchain-based national lottery ticket has been sold in Kampala, Uganda, has learned.

The ticket was sold by lottery operator Mobile Lotto Ltd., which has partnered with blockchain lottery supplier Winchain OS.

Winchain has been granted lottery operating licences in three Africa countries, including Uganda.

Winchain OS co-founder Charles Song told that the first ever sale of national lottery ticket powered by blockchain technology was made on April 12, 2019.

Song added that Winchain was committed to working closely with Mobile Lotto Ltd. to continue to push its technology into “real-world application”.
