Buterin hails rollups as answer to Ethereum’s woes

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin predicts better days for the network as rollups are expected to scale the ecosystem “by a factor of 100”.

Speaking on entrepreneur and life-style guru Tim Ferriss' podcast, Buterin addressed various issues that have troubled the network.

With layer-two solutions well on the way, Buterin is confident that any present-day woes, be that gas prices or transaction costs are going to be a thing of the past.

“We're fully confident that by the time that we need any more scaling of that, sharding will have already been ready for a long time by then”, Buterin assured listeners.

Sharding will allow the company to guarantee stability, whereas rollups will seek to address specific issues. Buterin is expecting to see the blockchain's reach between 1,000 and 4,000 transactions a second, depending on how complex each transaction is.

For the layer-two solution, Ethereum is counting on Optimism, a public benefit corporation dedicated to scaling Ethereum which should be rolling out the change in “a month or so”.

Buterin assured that rollups are not something the community should doubt, and cited examples with Loopring and zkSync, ie previous rollups that have been successful, even if they remain somewhat simpler than the ones planned next.

As Ethereum is looking to scale, this is good news for gamblers who are now looking to play at some of the best Ethereum casinos. Players are very welcome to join Bitcasino, BitStarz and 1xBit and experience various Eth gaming solutions.
