Over the years, The Simpsons has earned itself a bit of a reputation as an oracle with its predictions of the covid-19 pandemic and Donald Trump becoming a president.
Well, Bitcoin is finally big enough to merit The Simpsons' attention and in an episode titled “Crazy Cash” Marge Simpson checks out her gains with the ticker feed showing Bitcoin with an infinity symbol next to it.
Is The Simpsons calling Bitcoin a currency of unlimited potential and value? That is very possible, as they have already been successfully predicting that the GameStop short-selling would come to bite hedge funders back.
The Simpson is not just now getting into the cryptocurrency dialogue. In 2020, they invited Jim Parsons, known for playing Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, to talk briefly about what crypto assets are and how the underpinning distributed ledger works.
Parsons’ cameo didn't miss the opportunity to call cryptocurrencies the cash of the future. Of course, predictions by The Simpsons have often panned out but this doesn't mean to blindly start investing into crypto.
On Monday, Bitcoin did break the $60,000 threshold though, and whether that has to do with The Simpsons is open for debate. If you are optimistic about digital assets, there is always a new way to spend some time playing fun games online.
