Crypto charity fundraising platform The Giving Block has scheduled Bitcoin Tuesday for December 1, in the hope it will become one of the biggest – if not the biggest – cryptocurrency fundraisers in the history of digital assets.
Bitcoin's recent bullish run has prompted investors and consumers to take an interest in BTC once again.
While some people are rediscovering Bitcoin, for The Giving Block Bitcoin has been a reliable and proven way to conduct charity campaigns.
Many big crypto authorities have responded, including Blockfolio, Gemini, Cointelegraph and Ledger.
They all are interested in spreading the initiative for good causes. The current fundraiser will spread collected funds across 100 charities.
To make the fundraiser more entertaining, there will be a variety of events, including trivia contests about the origins and direction of the crypto industry.
The Giving Block feels confident about the event, especially now that in 2020, the growth of charities accepting cryptocurrencies has soared by 1,000% according to the institution.
While The Giving Block has held similar events in the past, this one is expected to be orders of magnitude bigger as it will feature numerous industry leaders and enjoy significant publicity.
Recently, there have instances of Bitcoin organizations trying to raise funds using crypto for charities. Bitcasino.io held a poker tournament, joined by The Giving Block, Binance, and numerous other entities.
In the meantime, many casinos have allocated their unused loyalty rewards – with the permission of customers – to charity events.
