Cryptocurrency sportsbook Stake.com has signed a new high-profile partnership with Premier League club Watford FC.
As a result, Stake.com will become Watford's primary shirt sponsor and its branding will appear on player jerseys and shirts.
To celebrate this new partnership, Stake.com is preparing various cryptocurrency-themed initiatives, such as a 10 million Dogecoin giveaway.
Stake.com is also preparing to launch as a licensed sportsbook in the UK market, giving the platform a significant pull with local fans and sports bettors.
Stake.com is one of the few crypto sportsbooks to pursue a license from the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, arguably one of the strictest gambling regulators in the world.
Commenting on this opportunity Watford FC chairman and chief executive Scott Duxbury said: “We are thrilled to welcome Stake as our principal shirt sponsor ahead of the 2021/22 season.”
He added that the club was excited and looking forward to what he described as “innovation in order to achieve success.”
Stake.com CEO Mladen Vuckovic was equally pleased with the development, commenting: “We could not be more thrilled to partner with a club that has such immense history yet still a true innovative spirit. We’re committed to becoming a key part of the Watford family and have a number of exciting initiatives planned for fans over the coming months.”
Stake.com is one of the major crypto sportsbooks in the market and it has ongoing ties with soccer teams, the UFC and other major sports bodies.
