Swindon Town Football Club (FC) has become the second UK club to enter into a partnership with cryptocurrency betting firm, Stake.com, as its shirt sleeve sponsor for the Emirates FA Cup match against Manchester City.
Under the terms of the agreement, Stake.com’s logo was on the club's matchday shirts, for the fixture against the Premier League side that took place January 7, 2022.
The partnership followed shortly after Stake.com announced it received the thumbs up from regulators to launch its UK-facing platform.
The agreement with Swindon Town FC expanded Stake’s sports sponsorship portfolio and football-related marketing strategy.
Danny Lee, head of commercial, Swindon Town FC, said: “We are delighted to welcome onboard Stake.com as our official sleeve partner for our exciting Emirates FA Cup Third Round Tie versus Manchester City.
“We are proud to welcome such an innovative brand on board and are looking forward to working with the team at Stake.com on this partnership and beyond.”
“At Stake.com, we love an underdog story and look forward to playing our part in supporting the club as they bid to pull off one of the biggest FA Cup giant-killings of all time.”
