Leading crypto sports gambling operator Sportsbet.io has expanded its reach in Brazil through a new partnership with São Paulo FC.
Under the terms of the deal, Sportsbet.io will be the club's main sponsor through the end of the 2024 season.
This adds to a lengthy list of similar sponsorships with Arsenal FC, Southampton FC and Flamengo, another Brazilian club.
The latest deal is the largest investment Sportsbet.io has made in Brazil to date as the country prepares to launch its sports betting industry, offering fresh opportunities for regulated operators.
As the most populous country in South America, Brazil holds the largest potential gambling market for sports.
São Paulo's executive director for marketing Eduardo Toni said he was excited to see São Paulo join hands with Sportsbet.io. He said the partnership signaled the club's commitment to growing its footprint.
Sportsbet.io is counting on the same as São Paolo is an internationally recognized club. The partners will work on a number of marketing campaigns on TV, radio and social media to bolster awareness for their products and services. The deal includes shirt sponsorship.
The sportsbook's head of marketing Justin Le Brocque added: “We are sure that both sides will gain a lot from this exchange of experiences and I am also convinced that the São Paulo fans will come to ‘play together’ with us.”
Previously, Sportsbet.io had partnerships with Watford and Rosario Central. It is still one of the most populous sportsbooks out there that is focused on crypto. According to analyst Neil Patel, Sportsbet.io has at least 150,000 organic visitors monthly.
