Sportradar to launch 3,000 virtual NBA games a day

Sportradar has announced it will offer 3,000 virtual NBA games a day to its betting partners.

Powered by game data provided by its existing NBA data and streaming deal, the flow of virtual action will allow operators to offer betting markets during quieter times.

Motion capture technology taken using cameras and sensors simulate the gameplay with outcomes decided by combining artificial intelligence and machine learning tools.

Sportradar managing director Frank Wenzig said: “Virtual sports betting is growing in popularity with more than 200 million betting tickets accepted across Sportradar’s portfolio of virtual betting products so far this year.

“Through the introduction of virtual NBA, featuring the names and logos of NBA teams, Sportradar is providing operators with dynamic new basketball content to drive engagement with the sport and provide fans with access to NBA betting markets, even in the off season.”

Sportradar’s virtual offerings will be made available to operators via its eWallet Remote Game Server or via its Betradar Unified Odds Feed for easy integration to client feeds.

Each virtual NBA game features 12 betting markets with bettors able to watch and place bets on up to eight games at one time.

Sportradar already has partnerships with the likes of UEFA, Major League Baseball and Nascar and works with operators including William Hill, Fan Duel and Draft Kings.
