Chocolate bar Snickers has become the latest brand to tease Dogecoin, tweeting about the meme coin in a tweet to the company’s 407,500 followers.
The tweet succinctly stated “Dogecoinrise” and added two “DogeDay” hashtags, which have been trending in the US.
Snickers apparently set off a “Dogecoin rush” among other candy makers, with Milky Way also pitching in with another tweet that is adding to the momentum of the currency.
Milky Way and Snickers are both produced by the Mars confectionary company, so the tweets are not unrelated.
Dogecoin is in the midst of a rush of growing interest. The coin managed to add 145,859 new subscribers to its Reddit forum last week, indicating that the community associated with it continues to grow.
However, a closer look at Google Trends earlier this week revealed that Dogecoin is currently trending only in the US, with all other countries turning to Bitcoin instead.
The confectionary company is not the only one to endorse Doge. Tesla boss, Elon Musk, and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban have been two of the most prominent public supporters of Doge.
Cuban has even called for greater implementation of blockchain technology in the NBA, as his team is now accepting Dogecoin for tickets and merchandise.
