Reinventing Anna: Serial Scammer launches NFT collection

Convicted felon and professional swindler Anna Sorokin has launched a non-fungible token (NFT) collection.

Following a 2000 item NFT mint yesterday, the ‘Anna Card’ went live today and can be purchased for 0.1 ETH.

The NFTs unlock access to exclusive live streams, phone calls and items from Anna. Depending on the tier purchased, holders may even be able to meet and greet the Russian-born convict.

Three “ultra-platinum” NFTs will be the only NFTs that unlock the in-person meeting and personal items from Sorokin, reported NBC News.

In an interview with the news channel, Sorokin (while still in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody) explained that the NFTs were aimed at her “biggest fans”.

The NFT collection follows after the popularity of the Netflix hit show “Inventing Anna’, a miniseries based on the true story of Sorokin’s life as she scammed her way into elite circles by claiming to be a German heiress; exploiting everyone she met in an attempt to become an infamous socialite.

Now, in a bid to rehabilitate her image, she is stepping into the world of NFTs.

“I’m trying to move away from this like, quote-unquote scammer persona”, Sorokin said, from the Orange County Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

“This is, like totally, has been pushed upon me by the prosecution and by the following media and by the Netflix show, but I’m trying to move away from that definitely.”

After overstaying her US visa, Sorokin is currently being held in an immigration detention center. Some could say it comes as a shock that anyone would buy anything from the serial scammer given her track record. Some could say they saw it coming.
