Social discussion board Reddit may be looking into exploring an NFT platform, according to a recent job post.
The ad revealed Reddit is recruiting people who would be in charge of developing a solution to enable “millions of users to create, buy, sell and use NFT-backed digital goods”.
The position requires candidates to have at least five years of experience and be able to operate and implement complex distributed systems under high load.
“If there is one thing we’ve noticed with NFTs, they too have an incredible power to create a sense of participation and belonging”, the job posting read, signaling Reddit's determination to launch itself in the space.
Reddit seems confident that NFTs will only grow and that they will serve as the means to empower content creators and communities, which is precisely what the social media platform wants to achieve.
Reddit is not the first social media platform to stake a claim in the NFT space. In fact, it may be one of the laggards, as Twitter and Facebook have already said that they are exploring NFTs.
Twitter is looking to integrate NFTs into its platform to offer better customization options to consumers and Facebook is taking the NFT bonanza up a notch by vowing to create a metaverse, which is expected to replace the current operational mode by the company and even lead to its rebranding.
As Reddit joins the NFT bandwagon, you can still rely on time-tested options such as online casinos where you can play and enjoy yourself. We recommend visiting 1xBit, Bitcasino and FortuneJack.
