Web browser Opera is preparing to integrate with Unstoppable Domains in an effort to provide consumers with “decentralized web access.”
As a result, Opera users will be able access decentralized websites hosted via IPFS, the Unstoppable Domains .crypto NFT addresses that will now work via the company's dedicated browser.
Multiple platforms will be supported, including iOS, Android, Windows, Linux and Mac. The main difference between standard web ownership and crypto domains is that in the case of Unstoppable Domains, you will get full ownership over the domain because it's created as an NFT based on the Ethereum blockchain.
As a result, the .crypto domain can replace complex wallet addresses and facilitate the onboarding process for no fewer than 40 cryptocurrency wallets. Opera product director Maciej Kocemba said that the company remained committed to innovating the way people access the Internet.
“We have always supported web innovation, and the decentralized web or Web3 is the natural next wave”, he said.
A range of operations will be facilitated by .crypto domains. Unstoppable CEO Matthew Gould confirmed that crypto wallets will be much easier to navigate as a result.
Presently, there are over 700,000 blockchain domain names registered with Unstoppable Domains and the company has been reporting steady interest.
Domain names such as win.crypto and gambling.crypto have already been snapped up, each selling for $100,000.
