The New York Giants have revealed a partnership with crypto asset management company Grayscale.
Described as an “incredibly meaningful opportunity” by Grayscale CEO Michael Sonenshein, the Giants have become the latest NFL franchise to flirt with blockchain digital assets.
For its part, Grayscale seeks to introduce the entire professional football league in the US to the cryptocurrency ecosystem, as per the official announcement released on Wednesday.
Commenting in a similar vein, New York Giants chief commercial officer Pete Guelli said: “Grayscale quickly emerged as a company that shares our passion for the New York market but also has the institutional knowledge and network of partners that we can access as crypto continues to evolve.”
Moving forward, Grayscale will be featured as an official home game sponsor and the team’s training camp. Grayscale is looking to educate more people about the benefits of cryptocurrencies, and the firm will be hosting seminars which will be free to attend.
While NFL teams have been a little shy of embracing cryptocurrencies all-out, there has been a growing momentum among players. Tom Brady announced a dedicated NFT offering earlier this year and Rob Gronkowski decided to explore Bitcoin.
