League of Kingdoms launches LOKA token

League of Kingdoms, the massively multiplayer online (MMO) blockchain game, launched in 2020 is launching its own token, LOKA.

Available to users from Thursday 20 January 2022, it aims to further the growth of its community of 400,000 active users.

Adding to its existing set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the LOKA token is focused on enabling governance rights as an additional utility to the League of Kingdoms’ community.

LOKA holders will be able to make decisions surrounding key features and plans for the game, alongside gaining the ability to stake an asset and receive a slice of the platform's fees, as well as other upcoming use cases and exclusive access to NFTs.

The free-to-play MMO game is built with the average non-crypto user in mind. The League of Kingdoms NFTs are simple to use and gradually introduced. They games have attracted an audience of both novice and advanced gamers.

The LOKA token comes alongside several new initiatives to expand League of Kingdoms into a full gaming metaverse.

Such launches include player-versus-player arenas, an extension of play-to-earn (P2E) gaming, esports integration, commerce platforms such as NFT bazaar, and other updates. The token’s launch aims to build a network of guilds and communities to attract P2E experts.

League of Kingdoms co-founder Chan Lee said: “This has been truly a long-time coming for us, working on LoK when nobody believed in the promise of blockchain games and play-to-earn.

“Now, with our friends from Axie Infinity breaking the floodgates open, we’re ready to show the wider P2E community what we’ve been working on.”

Hashed CEO Simon Kim commented: “We are proud to be an early backer of League of Kingdoms and the team’s journey to build a fundamentally strong game that effectively marries the best of both Web2 and Web3 gaming.

“I do not doubt that League of Kingdoms will onboard next millions of gamers who will come for the game’s appeal and be staying for crypto.”
