FunFair Technologies has praised the power of the xDai chain when applied to gaming.
While Ethereum has suffered scalability and speed issues, xDai has been able to step in and present itself as a viable solution – at least to an extent.
FunFair Technologies argued that xDai has enabled the company to build its innovative game Payloads on this chain, overcoming many of the issues otherwise presented by Ethereum.
Payloads has not been a blind experiment though, with FunFair having a very good reason as to why they have chosen to use the Layer 2 solution in the first place.
Thanks to xDai, the company has been able to reduce the cost of operation by 99.99% and block time speed by another 6.7%, making for a much-improved experience.
That has translated into some clear benefits to the gameplay when enjoying Payloads, including a shorter loading screen time.
Thanks to xDai, players are not stuck on black screens waiting for a game to load up because of overall slowness in the underpinning technology.
However, FunFair admits that after an hour of running Payloads with 20 players on the xDai network, blockages begin to occur with players experiencing disruption of service, a problem that is common on Ethereum and xDai chains.
FunFair is confident that building Payloads on xDai was an important step toward solving the bigger issues in blockchain gaming and encouraged everyone who is interested in playing the game to give it a shot.
