Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com is launching a non-fungible token (NFT) platform this Friday, which will feature tokens by popular athletes, musicians and artists.
The platform will feature some popular faces who are looking to join in the digital craze backed by the tech-savvy individuals at Crypto.com.
So far, Crypto.com has mentioned the names of Snoop Dogg, Klarens Mallutta, Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM and many others.
Mansoor pitched in on the conversation, adding that he had always enjoyed exploring new technology, whether that was drop-in audio or virtual and augmented realities.
“Technology is at its best when it’s helping us connect to each other in innovative ways and NFTs are a super exciting way to forge deeper bonds with my supporters”, he said.
The platform will open for business on March 26 led by Joe Conyers III, and consumers will have the option to pay in several popular denominations, including DOGE, BTC, and ETH.
Interestingly, unlike retail and institutional involvement, the addition of celebrities to the NFT and blockchain sector has not impacted the price of the more serious tokens, including Bitcoin. This is a fair warning that NFTs should be treated as entertainment and probably not as an investment.
