Casino Betting Coin questions KuCoin over hack

Casino Betting Coin has expressed its “extreme disappointment” with KuCoin's continued failure to fully address the hacking incident that took place in September 2020.

In a statement, Casino Betting Coin argued that KuCoin should seek to compensate CBC holders, and said that the exchange had failed in its responsibility to secure CBC holders' funds.

Last week, KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu said in a Medium post that customers had not lost any funds in last year's hack. But the Casino Betting Coin comments appear to dispute this.

Casino Betting Coin claims that KuCoin consumers are still subject to low withdrawals and high fees. It said users are only able to withdraw around 230 CBC daily, a limit that was in effect as of February 10. It added that the withdrawal fee far exceeds the sum of withdrawal, and consumers have to cover $32 per withdrawal or 651.5 CBC in fees.

Casino Betting Coin continued by explaining that it is yet to see consumers who have funds on KuCoin gain full control to them.

A recent report by the United Nations suggested that the attack on the exchange may have been launched by North Korean hackers, who have been stealing cryptocurrencies to fund the country's nuclear weapons programme.
