Bitcoin Creator: Craig Wright Wins Lawsuit

It has been a long saga for Craig Wright who claims to be the original Satoshi Nakamoto. An incredible number of skeptics have valid proof that he is not the original Bitcoin creator, however, a recent court case has ruled that he is in fact the owner of the genesis bitcoin wallet.

The wallet refers to an early bitcoin wallet owned by the real Satoshi Nakamoto. There has long been speculation as to who Satoshi Nakamoto is, and many believe he has already passed away.

Like any cryptocurrency wallet, this wallet requires private keys to interact with. To this day no one has moved or accessed the genesis wallet, but Wright insists he is the true owner. People claimed he was a fraud, which ended up with him being called into court over the allegations.

Wright won the case but it is unlikely to change the views of many crypto enthusiasts. In cryptocurrency, it is very easy to claim you own a wallet. All you need to do is sign a (free) transaction, and you are proven as the owner.

To this day, Wright has yet to do this. Instead, he has dragged this concept through courts in an attempt to show he is not a fraud.

As expected, Twitter is alive again today with the hashtag #faketoshi, calling him out on his lack of proper proof of the genesis ownership. Wright still pushes the narrative that he is Satoshi Nakamoto – the original creator of Bitcoin – to bring more popularity to his alternate version.

Bitcoin SV has struggled immensely this year and has seen multiple attacks on the chain in which the original coin never had. The lack of nodes on Bitcoin SV fails to bring the decentralization needed to secure the network properly. Many groups have found that buying ownership of the nodes is cheap and can be used to invalidate transactions and change the ledger.

Winning the battle in court will not do much for Wright, but he can easily prove he is the true creator of Bitcoin with one simple transaction. Until then, many will continue to believe he is a fraud.
