The upcoming Miami 2021 bitcoin conference is expected to be the largest edition to date, according to the event’s organizers.
Organizers are predicting that at least 50,000 people will turn up for the event.
The hosts moved the event from Los Angeles to Miami, as they believe that the change of venue will lead to a better turn out, citing covid-19 and other considerations.
The conference, which will be held between held on June 4-5, will be hosted at the city’s Wynwood neighborhood and reunite a number of industry personalities, experts and executives.
Many high-profile figures from the Bitcoin community, including legislators and businesspeople are attending.
That includes Wyoming senator Cynthia Lummis and former congressman Ron Paul. The expo will bring out MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor as well as cryptographer Nick Szabo, to name a few.
The organizers are offering a “whale pass” entry ticket, which will be auctioned off with the starting bids beginning at 3 BTC.
Apart from access to the conference, the whale ticket comes with five celebrity-suite tickets for the upcoming Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight as well as three vintage bottles of 1996 Dom Pérignon, and various other benefits.
Mayor Francis Suarez, a long-time proponent of Bitcoin and blockchain, will be among the speakers. Suarez has become famous for his pro-Bitcoin stance and arguments that blockchain and cryptocurrencies can be green and should be produced with renewables sources.
He is also behind the city-wide initiative that enables city employees to get paid in bitcoin rather than US dollars if they choose to.
In the meantime, Bitcoin remains the leading crypto gaming currency at Bitcasino, 1xBit and FortuneJack to name just a few.
