German football club Bayern Munich has joined Sorare, a football game where special fantasy tokens are created and traded between players. These digital collectibles have a particular value to fans that use them as part of a fantasy league.
Bayern Munich isn't the only team to have joined the Sorare bonanza. Other clubs include Paris Saint-German, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus. With the addition of Bayern Munich, which plays in the German's Bundesliga, Sorare has now effectively secured teams from the world's 20 football leagues.
Sorare will extend to fans various limited-edition collectibles and cards. Based on the nonfungible token technology, the platform has been amassing interest globally. According to a ranking service by the same name, i.e. Nonfungible, Sorare is now ranking as the third-most popular similar platform in terms of trading volume, which has reached $243,000 at press time.
Football fans may engage with the sports using blockchain technology by opting for some betting opportunities, too. Websites such as Cloudbet and SportsBet.io offer a number of opportunities to place a sports wager.
