Augur nears sports betting UI launch

The company has been posting regular updates about the upcoming launch of Augur v2, most recently at the end of June. Meanwhile, Twitter handle @Alex.eth has taken a closer look at the Augur Project and what the team has been putting together with its in-depth Github tracking.

Some of the highlights Alex considered worthwhile included the state of progress of v2 tasks, with most of those being completed according to schedule. The company is already planning for V2.1 and lesser priorities are seeing some action.

The highlight here, however, is the introduction of the sports betting user interface (UI), which will give Augur a more user-friendly look. The UI uses a traditional Spread/Moneyline and Totals bet style, as opposed to its usual trading aesthetic.

Alex.eth cited Tom Haile from a forum thread, with Haile arguing that the months put in the development of the user interface have paid off, as the UI looked “awesome.”

One huge boost to the overall functionality of the website has been the fact that consumers can switch freely between trading UI, betting exchange and sportsbook just by toggling the option they are interested in the most. Haile promised further details once v2.0 is officially released.

While Augur is preparing to launch with a fresh lease of life, many other blockchain betting projects have made their own moves. Cloudbet, one of the leading purveyors of sports betting products in the crypto space, recently launched its own next-generation website.

There are other worthwhile sports betting projects, too, including Sportsbet.io and FortuneJack. However, Cloudbet offers zero-margins on English Premier League games, giving it major appeal.
