McLaren Racing and OKX release ‘Race Rewind’ digital collectibles

With each F1 Grand Prix, fans will have the chance to win exclusive merchandise and special experiences with the McLaren team

McLaren Racing has teamed up with OKX, a well-known cryptocurrency exchange and the McLaren Formula 1 Team’s Official Primary Partner, to introduce the ‘Race Rewind’ digital collectible series. The idea behind this pioneering project is to involve worldwide fans in the FIA Formula One World Championship while giving them an opportunity to win exclusive prizes from McLaren.

The ‘Race Rewind’ digital collectibles which are accessible in the OKX Wallet offer fans a never-seen-before multimedia experience that merges both audio and visuals into one celebratory item per Grand Prix race. With these collectibles at their disposal, fans can re-experience all the thrills of each race.

The initial digital collectible will commemorate the Canadian Grand Prix and can be minted on the OKX app starting from Friday, June 7, until Monday, June 10.

Fans collecting all digital collectibles for season 2024 stand a chance to win a special VIP prize pack. This unique reward includes a fan experience with the team, $2,500 for travel and accommodation expenses plus an adrenaline-fueled hot lap around the track.

OKX will release ‘Race Rewind’ NFTs for each remaining round of the Formula 1 calendar. Lucky winners shall receive things like signed memorabilia or even get a chance to visit the McLaren Technology Centre located in Woking, Surrey, England alongside various other fan experiences held directly at the track side.

OKX chief marketing officer Haider Rafique said:

“We want to build community and bring new utility to crypto. Web3 and blockchain are not all about trading and investment – they are about finding a better way to bring people closer to the things they care about. We are pleased to work with the McLaren F1 Team to bring a rewarding experience to global fans with ‘Race Rewind.'”

Every Tuesday after every race finishes those who bought digital collectables will find out the rarity level based on what was released during event days.  Those having ultra-rare or rare editions in their possession will be invited to special events. Seven lucky holders of Ultra-Rare NFTs will be able to take part in Race Watch at the McLaren Technology Centre while twenty people who own Rare collectibles shall receive exclusive merchandise from McLaren Racing.
