Liverpool announces Sorare extension

Premier League football club Liverpool has named fantasy sports game platform Sorare as an official global partner.

The Reds first began working with the digital NFT-based fantasy provider last year when launching collectible digital cards of its first-team squad including manager Jurgen Klopp.

Star players will continue to be available via its platform to buy and sell. With the latest deal also seeing the two organisations collaborate on multimedia content and experiences.

Liverpool FC commercial director Ben Latty said: “At Liverpool Football Club, we’re always striving to pioneer new technologies for our supporters, with the aim of enhancing their fan experience and making them feel as connected as possible to this club.

“We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Sorare and go further in bringing exciting new initiatives to our fans.”

Sorare head of business development Michael Meltzer added: “Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most iconic and prestigious clubs; a footballing juggernaut with unparalleled history and one of the largest and most passionate fanbases in the sport.

“We’re beyond excited to expand our partnership with such an historic club that is just as committed to innovating to bring authentic experiences to their fans as we are.

“Thanks to this exclusive deal, fans from across the globe will be able to use Sorare to get even closer to the Reds they love – from Virgil van Dijk to Trent [Alexander-Arnold] to Thiago.”

Sorare continues to announce big deals with sports organisations around the world having already announced a similar partnership with Serie A side Bologna earlier this week.

The unique NFT platform already works with teams such as Borussia Dortmund, AS Monaco and Saint-Etienne and claims to reach fans in more than 185 countries around the world.

Sorare will be hoping this latest deal with Liverpool continues to grow its user numbers.
