LFP teams up with Chiliz to launch fantasy soccer game

The French Professional Football League (LFP) has collaborated with blockchain company Chiliz to introduce Coach Ligue 1, a groundbreaking fantasy soccer game.

This partnership marks a significant milestone as it is the first time a soccer league has ventured into developing its own fantasy soccer game.

Coach Ligue 1 offers fans of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT an innovative platform to assemble their dream teams using digital trading cards of their favorite players.

These cards, minted on the Chiliz Chain, ensure a perpetual connection with fans and eliminate the risk of license expiration, providing a sustainable model for leveraging the league's intellectual properties.

The game promises a gamified experience where fans can compete weekly to climb the ranks in both national and global leaderboards. By using in-game currency, players can acquire new player packs and enhance their teams.

Additionally, Coach Ligue 1 features five levels of card rarity, ranging from Espoir to Légende, allowing users to participate in increasingly prestigious tournaments.

Chiliz's involvement guarantees the limited availability and value of each player card through blockchain technology, enhancing the collectability and trading experience for fans.

The game's development was facilitated in collaboration with gaming studio Unagi, known for its expertise in gaming and web3 technologies, particularly its work on Ultimate Champions.

The partnership with Chiliz signifies a broader vision for the future of fantasy sports, with leagues taking control of revenue streams and user engagement, while also creating equity value for their clubs and shareholders.
