Huobi Global announces advisory board

The new global board follows just two days after the company's acquisition by About Capital.

Cryptocurrency trading exchange Huobi Global has announced its global advisory board.

The board aims to guide the exchange’s global expansion and comprises five members: a co-founder of Huobi Global Du Jun; founder of blockchain network Tron Justin Sun; CEO of Valkyrie Investments Leah Wald; CEO of About Capital Management Ted Chen; and vice president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Wang Yang.

The new board follows the announcement made on October 8 of the company’s recent acquisition by Hong Kong-based asset management firm About Capital Management.

Although the majority stake transfer of ownership has been made, information on the acquisition amount and individual investors has not been disclosed.

Huobi Global explained that the purchase will not hinder any core operations and that About Capital will re-vamp the exchange with “sufficient capital in margin and risk provision fund”.
