Gala Games acquires Ember Entertainment

After the onboarding of Ember’s games, users that begin playing new titles will gain ownership benefits and rewards.

Blockchain-based play-to-earn (P2E) platform Gala Games has acquired games developer Ember Entertainment to onboard its portfolio of mobile games.

The process will incorporate web 3.0 reward mechanisms with a range of games set to release in succession.

The first two games selected are Ember’s Meow Match and Dragon Strike, featuring cross-genre mechanics and in-game items.

Those who begin playing immediately will benefit from “ownership and rewards mechanics” added to the new titles in due course.

Meow Match’s cat characters will act as NFT assets on the Gala blockchain, whereas Dragon Strike account holders will be eligible for in-game minting on the blockchain.

“As many of you already know, the team at Ember Entertainment created The Walking Dead Empires [game]”, said the firm. “What you may not know is that Ember has a successful portfolio of mobile games, and Gala’s acquisition [of Ember] means those mobile games will soon be Gala Games.”

With the view that “gaming experiences on mobile devices have become sleeker, faster, and more convenient than PC”, Gala hopes mobile gaming integration will increase the number of web 3.0 users while building a sustainable ecosystem for all players.
