FTX adds NFL’s Aaron Jones as ambassador

West Realm Shires Services Inc. and FTX Trading Ltd have teamed up with Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones.

The companies run the popular crypto exchange FTX, and its US subsidiary, and this partnership marks their latest foray into the entertainment and sports space.

Jones will serve as FTX ambassador and seek to boost awareness for the crypto exchange among National Football League (NFL) fans.

Jones is one of the most prominent football players in the league. He clocked in more than 1000 rushing yards during 2019 and 2020 and attended his first Pro Bowl in 2021.

Jones intends on investing part of his earnings into cryptocurrency, following in the steps of other players who have struck similar deals, Trevor Lawrence for example agreed to be paid in Bitcoin (BTC) earlier this year.

“Additionally, my brother and I are excited to become shareholders in FTX through Showtyme Ventures, LLC – my family's investing vehicle dedicated to investing in legendary entrepreneurs who are unapologetically changing the world, putting as equal an emphasis on making an impact as they do shareholder returns”, Jones said.

The athlete also runs a charity by the name of A&A All the Way which will integrate FTX Pay into its website to facilitate donators who wish to back it by paying in cryptocurrency.

Welcoming the news, FTX US president Brett Harrison said that Jones was clearly someone who shared the company's values and was a welcome addition to the company's ambassadors.

Jones is one of many NFL athletes to have agreed to crypto deals. Previously, the Panthers' Russell Okung became the first NFL player to be paid directly in BTC.
