Fortnite pro wins Dookey Dash Bored NFT challenge

Fortnite pro tops the Dookey Dash challenge, a skill-based game powered by NFTs and developed by Yuga Labs.

Professional esports player Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, competing in Epic Games’ Fortnite battle royale, has won the Dookey Dash challenge hosted by Yuga Labs.

Yuga Labs is the innovative developer behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection which has been developing several web3 solutions and projects.

The Dookey Dash challenge, based on the namesake skill-based blockchain game, saw as many as 25,000 players participate.

Entry was restricted to players who held Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs, and racers were allowed to mint special Sewer Pass NFTs during the race, which they used as “power”.

The interest in secondary sales of Sewer Pass NFTs was steady, with their estimated value put at $60m for 36,000 ETH tokens.

The best racer would receive a special mysterious reward, but this was not specified at the beginning. Meanwhile, many players were accused of cheating in the race, and some suggested that people were paying other players to score better for them.

Some grumpier members of the community suggested that Yuga Labs has failed to ensure basic levels of security, which made it possible for cheaters to exploit it and boost their score.

Yuga Lab has acknowledged that some Sewer Pass NFTs were indeed associated with cheating and said that it has corrected their scores but assured that the integrity of the race remained intact.

Upon review, only 2% of all scores had to be adjusted, Yuga Labs explained, a testimony to the fact that the anti-cheating measures had worked. None of the cheating players seemed to have ranked very high.

Meanwhile, MasterCard product lead for NFTs cheered on Mongraal’s win and said that he now needed to be extra careful with his crypto wallet.

The reward? Yuga Labs awarded an NFT asset known as the key which will be pivotal towards the next story of Dookey Cash.
