Former F1 star Barrichello joins Softswiss in Latin America

The strategic move aligns with Softswiss' expansion plans in Latin America, particularly Brazil

Former Formula 1 star Rubens Barrichello has recently taken on a new role as a non-executive director for tech firm Softswiss in Latin America. Softswiss, known for its 15 years of experience in the igaming solutions industry, aims to strengthen its ties with the local tech community and expand its presence in the region with Barrichello's appointment.

Barrichello, renowned for his success on the racing track, brings with him leadership skills and insights from his sporting career. His expertise is expected to contribute to the enhancement of Softswiss' sports betting platform and other products, as well as its efforts to promote responsible gambling.

The move comes as part of Softswiss' strategic expansion plans in Latin America, particularly in Brazil, where the igaming industry is projected to see significant growth. According to TGM Research, the industry's gross revenue in Brazil could reach €2.3bn by 2026, potentially representing 1% of the country's GDP.

Ivan Montik, founder of Softswiss, expressed his enthusiasm for Barrichello's joining the team, highlighting his track record of success in competitive environments and his ability to work collaboratively towards victory.

Montik sees Barrichello's involvement as a testament to Softswiss' dedication to the Brazilian market and its commitment to adapting global best practices to local conditions.

In response to his appointment, Barrichello said:

“The igaming field has shown remarkable growth both in Brazil and globally. Joining Softswiss, I am delighted to become one of the drivers of this process in Latin America. I am sure my background with the leading racing team will propel the igaming tech leader towards success in the region.”

Softswiss is an international company headquartered in Malta, with additional offices in Poland and Georgia. With a team of over 2,000 employees, the company specializes in providing software solutions for managing iGaming projects.
