Ethereum plans test launch of 2.0 in 2020 as it seeks improvements

Demand for Ethereum has soared over the past few months, seeing tremendous traffic spikes across the entire ecosystem.

That has been good news for miners who have been able to cash in on the surge occasioned by the DeFi boom.

However, regular users have been displeased with the costs of Ethereum, which turned out to be higher than Bitcoin for a second month in a row.

Given the additional strain added to the network Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 – or Zinken for short – is now on an expedited schedule with a rehearsal launch planned for 2020.

Ethereum has already tried a rehearsal launch once before, specifically with Spadina, but this flopped due to technical snags which prevented validators bringing their clients online.

Having a high rate of participation is a defining part of any blockchain, as it guarantees transparency and accountability.

Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum Foundation's lead coordinator for the upcoming 2.0, Danny Ryan, seem upbeat about the project's prospects. He said:

That's my impression. This is an ongoing dialogue with client teams, and we need to take a second to look at this testnet. But it is my understanding that this will trigger the next series of things. There's always blockers that might show up, we need to do this responsibly.”

Improving scalability and slashing Ethereum fees is a welcome move by many recreational users of the Ethereum blockchain.

Players in Ethereum casinos have been experiencing some slowdowns.

Thankfully, there are plenty of excellent banking options you can find at the leading ETH gaming websites, including 1xBit, FortuneJack, and Bitcasino.io.
