Esports BTC and ETH bettors play fast and loose compared to FIAT

Loot.bet has been examining the feasibility of cryptocurrencies as a worthwhile addition to its own portfolio for years now.

Having access to data first-hand, and having integrated cryptocurrency payments, Loot.bet has been able to draw some interesting conclusions.

For starter, Loot.bet's Head of Communications Paul Brel said that the rate of Bitcoin and Ethereum adoption among esports fan has been quick.

Brel believes that this can be simply explained by the fact that the esports demographic is young, progressive and very tech-savvy.

However, an interesting trend surfaced.

When esports bettors bet in crypto, they tend to bet more on the whole, around 35% more.

Another interesting thing to note is that esports fans that have BTC and ETH tend to make more sizeable deposits to begin with.

The market continues to be dominated by a handful of titles, though, including CS: GO which still commands 55% of the trading traffic, and Dota 2 comes second with 35% of the traffic.

These numbers seem to be overall true, even though League of Legends has a much more sizeable fan base.

Nevertheless, Loot.bet reported only 5% interest in sports betting on League of Legends games.

It seems that Dota 2 and CS:GO remain the leading esports betting product when it comes to that.
