Disney Joins the NFT Party

Veve has been exploding in popularity this year. It has successfully landed large IP partnerships with Marvel, DC, and now with Disney. Veve is owned by the project Economi which launched its token OMI in 2019. This summer has proved to be a good one as it jumped up into the top 100 by market cap.

Veve offers a platform for NFT creators to purchase and trade digital assets. The platform uses Layer 2 blockchain technology to remove the costly transaction fees associated with minting and listing NFTs.

Its claim to fame was the partnerships it made with Marvel and Disney, in which it self-branded as the comic book NFT providers. The platform releases limited editions of popular comic books which can only be purchased on its platform.

The market for NFTs has slowed down over the last few weeks. Many speculate that the new rise of meme coins has taken the spotlight away from NFTs.

The NFT marketplace is still very much in its infancy and many believe the true utility and adoption of these digital assets has not yet been recognized.  Actors, artists, sports players, and musicians have put their faith into NFTs and still continue to push new content into the space.

The addition of Disney to the NFT world will spread awareness to new audiences that look to collect the limited edition artwork of their favorite character. Disney’s target audience is (of course) children, but there are many adults that love the brand and are willing to pick up NFTs.

Disney is set to release these new NFTs on 12 November 2021 – which is Disney+ Day. The Disney brand is a powerhouse and contains many subsidiary companies such as Hasbro and Mattel which will be key to getting its foot in the door of the new digital world.

As many NFT enthusiasts are still spending thousands on pictures of dogs and monkeys, one can imagine that popular brands will have their own success in the market. Time will tell if Barbies start going for millions in the future.

NFTs are steadily becoming even more popularized and even more obtainable. Crypto casinos have long held a reputation for being trusted online websites where you can try new games. Bitcasino1xBit, and FortuneJack are worth a try.
