DForce confirms $3.65m return from vault hack

Funds have been returned with additional compensation for each affected user.

The DForce defi protocol has announced the return of $3.65m recently lost to an exploit on its Arbitrum and Optimism vaults.

It has been reported that all funds have been successfully returned to the vaults within three days with the promise to compensate every affected user.

On-chain security firm Peckshield confirmed DForce restricted its vaults immediately following notification of the security breach.

It has been reported that DForce found the hacker – identified as Whitehat – and after negotiations were made, a bounty was offered by the protocol.

However, in a quick turn of events, DForce agreed to drop the investigations and cease any legal action against the attacker.

Although the main offence directly involved the vaults of Optimism and Arbitrum, the losses affected three other assets.

Peckshield has not released further information but the firm has promised an in-depth report.
