‘Crypto mom’ Hester Peirce backs bitcoin ETPs

US markets may be ready for a bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP), according to US Securities and Exchange Commissioner (SEC) Hester Peirce.

Speaking with CoinDesk TV yesterday, she said with interest in bitcoin surging and the currency showing remarkable resilience, she was confident that the future of Bitcoin is brighter than it looks.

After the massive investment from Tesla to the tune of $1.5bn earlier this month, markets have been rallying with the bullish run on bitcoin intensifying. So, what's next for bitcoin according to Peirce?

Peirce’s endorsement is not a surprise. Her nickname has long been “crypto mom”, because of her pro-crypto approach. People are eager to trade a bitcoin ETP right now, and giving everyone a way to do so, Peirce argues, is the best thing to do.

Responding to US treasury secretary Janet Yellen’s recent statement that crypto is increasingly being used to fund terrorism, Peirce argued that the use of bitcoin for the purposes of terrorism was likely to be over-blown and that there was no way to ban cryptocurrencies.

Pierce is now counting on SEC chairman nominee Gary Gensler to step into his new post and discuss the possibilities of making a bitcoin ETP a reality. In the meantime, Bitcoin is quite popular at crypto casinos such as Bitcasino, 1xBit and FortuneJack.
