Crypto exchange OKX to sponsor Premier League Champions Manchester City

The exchange originally partnered with City in 2022 before signing a further multi-year deal to become clubs official sleeve sponsor

Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has expanded its partnership with English Premier League and Champions League champions Manchester City, after agreeing on a multi-year deal to become the clubs' official sleeve sponsor.

OKX and Manchester City originally teamed up in 2022, offering $CITY a fans token, before expanding into a training kit sponsorship deal a few months later.

The partnership also saw the launch of a fans Web3 experience called the OKX Collective alongside players Jack Grealish and Alex Greenwood which featured training, music, and NFT-based digital experiences.

Haider Rafique, OKX CMO said: “Our Manchester City partnership is intended to help the world learn more about blockchain and its use cases, including what we can do with our partnership to go beyond fan tokens.

“We believe Web3 infrastructure allows fans to have more transparency and ownership and interact with their favorite players in a new way.”

Fellow Premier League side Everton will feature crypto gambling and casino website Stake.com on the front of their shirts this season and recently finalized a one-year deal with Chelsea to replace mobile service provider ‘3’ on the front of their shirts.

Both Premier League sides will need to look for new sponsors in the near future with a ban on gambling sponsors appearing on the front of clubs' shirts, including those associated with cryptocurrencies, starting from the 2025/26 season.

Despite the ban on shirt front sponsorship, there will be no ban on operators signing shirtsleeve sponsorships like the partnership between Manchester City and OKX.
