Bitcoin mining firm Cripto Ávila has become the official sponsor of Venezuelan football team Trujillanos FC.

Cripto Ávila took to Instagram to make the announcement with the post not only highlighting the firm's crypto mining activities but also reaffirmed its commitment in supporting sports in the South American country.

Cripto Ávila previously had a sponsorship deal with the Liga FutVE, the top flight of Venezuelan football, as well as the First Division final in 2021, which was described as “something historic” at the time by Cripto Ávila.

Trujillanos FC are currently playing in the Segunda Division, the second tier of Venezuela, and are hoping the income and visibility from the sponsorship deal will help the club b return to the top flight, last playing in Lifa FutVE in 2021.

The news of the sponsorship deals comes after the clubs new president Hugo López released statements denying that any official sponsorship deal was happening.

This has fuelled rumours that the crypto mining firm’s sponsorship deal also includes the acquisition of the club. However, at this moment in time this has neither been confirmed or denied.
