Copa del Rey NFT collection to be launched by RealFevr

NFT specialist has partnered with the Spanish Football Federation to highlight the competition.

A NFT collection focusing on the Copa del Rey is going to be launched after a partnership was agreed between the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Portugal-based video NFT specialist RealFevr.

The three-year agreement will see iconic moments from the Spanish football competition recreated for fans to enjoy via RealFevr’s decentralized web3 platform.

This allows fans to buy digital packs and collect or trade moments which will include legendary footballers including Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and David Beckham.

RealFevr CEO Fred Antunes said: “Progress is made one step at a time. And today, we proudly affirm being one step closer to the implementation of our vision, not just as a company, but also as an active contributor to the digital revolution in the sports industry.

“RFEF trusted us to take this massive step, becoming the first national football federation in the world to do so.”

The RFEF is one of many sporting organisations looking to grab the attention of tech-savvy fans in a bid to unlock vital new revenues and reach more fans globally than ever before.

RFEF marketing director Ruben Rivera said: “Our agreement with RealFevr is great news for Copa del Rey fans around the world and will allow us to share with them historical moments of the competition that will be unique within the web3 ecosystem thanks to Realfevr’s expertise and magnificent community of users.”

La Liga giants Barcelona have won the competition 31 times – the most of any team – but it’s Real Betis who currently hold the Copa del Rey following victory over Valencia on penalties.
