Coinbase CEO Armstrong: Apple are bullies

In a Tweet, Coinbase’s Armstrong rebuked Apple for the company’s continuous blockage of some of the crypto exchange’s services.

According to Armstrong, the restrictions included the ability to earn money and unrestricted decentralised applications (dApp) browsers.

Specifically, Armstrong explained that Apple has been increasingly hostile towards cryptocurrencies and blockchain over the years. Because of Apple’s gung-ho attitude, the ability to earn money via cryptocurrencies and completing specific tasks had been limited, the executive added.

“Apple has been very restrictive and hostile to cryptocurrency over the years. They're still blocking some functionality right now, including the ability to earn money with cryptocurrency by completing tasks, and unrestricted dApp browsers,” he said.

This is not the first issue between Coinbase and Apple. In December 2019, Coinbase warned consumers it might have to remove the company’s dedicated dApp browser from Apple’s App Store due to change in policies restricting crypto technology.

According to Armstrong, the oligopoly between Google and Apple has gone on for long enough and is detrimental to business.

Apple is also facing accusations from Epic Games, a developer of popular games such as Fortnite, for restricting access to developer tools and suspending the iOS version of the game.

While Apple may have made certain aspects of the blockchain experience, it hasn’t been able to disrupt the gaming industry.

Companies such as Bitcasino, 1xBit Casino and FunFair CasinoFair have remained firmly embedded in the blockchain gaming space.

They reveal great bonuses for new players and offer extensive and worthwhile promotions for anyone who is already a register member.
