Brave Browser hits record numbers of monthly users

The platform has now officially reached over one million content creators and 20 million active monthly users, making for a massive increase since the 8.7 million it registered at the beginning of the year.

The company started rather modestly too, but quickly gained steam.

In 2019, Brave Browser reported around 300,000 content creators, but this number has increased rapidly today to constitute well over one million creators.

Brave uses a proprietor solution known as the Basic Attention Token (BAT) and participants have paid out 26 million BAT to content creators since Brave launched officially.

To power the Brave solution, the company uses Chromium, which is the technology used in Google's Chrome and Microsoft's Edge web browsers.

Brave has also been a vociferous proponent of the idea of the end of monopolies in the tech sector, calling on government institutions to break up the monopolies by tech giants, search engines and others.

Previously, Brave teamed up with Binance to enable browser-based crypto trades, in what is considered an innovative move.
